We’ve been married 3 weeks!!!

We have been married 3 weeks, but we have only been home about 6 days! From our honeymoon in Aruba, we were home for about 5 days before Christmas, then we were off to see April’s family here in GA and on Christmas day we flew to Michigan to see all of Kevin’s family!
We spent 5 days there with his family and it was wonderful to be with his mom, dad, Laura, Eric and Greg while they were still here! We also were able to attend Grandma and Grandpa LeCureux’s 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 28th. It was such a special time and we are really thankful for such great examples and wonderful legacies for our marriage. Family is so important and it is so amazing to have such great families and marriages on both sides of our families. We are so thankful!!
We want to thank all of you for being at our wedding and helping in so many ways! It was a wonderful day and we are grateful for all of you in our lives! The wedding may be over, but we want to continue to update y’all on our lives! Stay tuned for what is next!

Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for Kevin’s grandparents–for peace and health and protection
2. Pray for Kevin’s new job that he begins on Monday January 9th. It has been soo nice for him to be home for 7 weeks, but he is ready to get back to work!
3. Pray for all the changes being made in the children’s ministry and with April’s job in the next month!

We love you all! Blessings to you!
April

It’s Our New House

Our house, from the middle of our streetHey, look, it’s our new house! This house comes complete with white picket fence, hardwood floors, three bedrooms and three bathrooms, two-car garage, and real wood fireplace.

We look forward to having people over. We are saving up for a new dining room set and porch furniture, so some of our wedding gifts will go toward that.

We both really like this house, and can’t wait to start our lives together in it. Here are a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure!

A wedding shower to never forget!

Last weekend, my mom’s Jazzercise buddies threw me an unforgettable shower!!

I walked in and had flower petals thrown at me–as the flower girl (Monique, the hostess) greeted me at the door! Then, I walked in and saw all the ladies, all dressed up in bridesmaid dresses they wore in weddings!!! Soo much fun!!!

They had a game ready for me to play, as well! They had each submitted a picture of themselves on their wedding day, but the faces were left out, and I had to arrange all of them by name! It was such a hard, but very fun game idea!!

And even as I left, they threw bird seed at me on the way out! It was such a fun and memorable shower! I am so thankful for these women who have been my mom’s wonderful friends for 15-20 years! They are incredible women of the Lord, and also know how to have a realllly good time!! Enjoy the pictures!!

There’s a picture of the game they had for me to play, a group shot of all the ladies–including my mom and my sister, and also a picture of me as I walked in–taking it all in! :)

More updates to come this weekend! Including pictures of the house, and Kevin’s JOB UPDATE!!!!!!!

Blessings,
April :)

My first bridal shower!

I attended my first bridal shower this weekend and it was amazing! Many of my Athens-based bridesmaids were the hostesses: Kelli Baumgartner, Rebecca Finn, Alissa Heil, Holly Avera and Kyndal Stanley. It was a crafting shower, in which we all made something that I could take home to decorate the new house!! They gave us such nice gifts, the greatest one being the prayer time they had for me. I was so blessed by that time, and it just made me even more thankful for the people God has placed in my life “for such a time as this”. It was also great to have my mom there to celebrate and spend time with my friends! I am constantly in awe and thankful for His goodness in our lives.

A few pictures to share:

Blessings to all,
April :)

Our House

Last weekend, April moved into the house we’ll be living in. It’s right outside the Athens perimeter, and not too far from Classic City. We both really love this house, and we hope to use it in serving the Lord in lots of ways. Once we get more set up, we’ll share some pictures and hopefully have some of you over to visit.

Also, I had a job interview last Monday, and am waiting to hear back from the company this week. We would appreciate your prayers over my job situation. Thanks!

Love,
Kevin and April

From the Wedding Party: Jessica

Jessica is April’s younger sister and her matron of honor.

To me, my sister April is the coolest person I know. She truly is amazing. However, things weren’t always like that! Growing up in our house we were the true definition of sister rivalry!! I was the younger sister who wanted to always hang out with her ’cause I thought her and her friends were ‘so cool’. The younger sister who would steal all of her clothes when she would go to school before me thinking she would never know! April told on me for everything, too! Haha! The funniest thing she and one of her friends ever did to me…(which was AWFUL at the time to me) was come bring me Orange Juice (which I thought was such a sweet gesture) but it was FILLED with SALT in it!!!!!!!!!!! BLUCK!!!!!!!! sick. I wouldn’t trade any of our childhood moments away. They are what molded us to be who we both are today. We grew to be closer as the years went by, but for those of you that know us, know that we are both very different people!

My favorite moments with my sister I can’t even count them all….the vacations, mission trips, trick or treating, shopping playing games at home, just life! We can just be sitting in a room and be laughing! Or maybe her laughing at me being crazy! There’s no telling….

I could go on and on about my sister, but there really aren’t enough lines that could really explain how awesome she really is. She makes me want to strive to be a better person. I found Jesus because of her. Talk about a favorite moment! When someone shows you The Way to The King you are truly grateful, and when it’s your sister… it’s even more special! It may be my own opinion, but I think God has an extra special place for her in his Kingdom.

From April and Kevins first date, I knew they were meant to be. Aprils voice…she was so happy! From then on she really has been such a different April. I have no doubt in my mind that God made Kevin for April.

When Kevin came on vacation with us in the end of April/early May…he blended right in with our family! Who would have thought! A dork, just like us!!! And he rides his BICYCLE real good!!! ha-ha!! Found out that you also shouldn’t play card games with him. He’s way too good! Taught him a new game, and he ended up being better than ALL of us! And it’s a hard game! Its no Go Fish! OK?
I love seeing my sister so happy…it makes me happy. It means the world to me that God has brought the two of them together. Their love is so true and real. I can’t wait to see what their relationship is going to unfold in the years to come. I am so glad and so blessed that I get to be here by both of your sides to watch it and be part of it.

And Kevin…my dream was to ALWAYS have a brother….but really!?!?! Why do you have to be younger than me!!!!! not cool. Now I’m like the middle child. I’m already getting middle child syndrome. :)

Love you two!
Jessica

From the Wedding Party: Laura

This is the first installment of “From the Wedding Party”, posts written by our dear friends and family that will stand with us to witness our wedding. This is from my sister, Laura, who has been a wonderful sister and friend to me her whole life. – Kevin

Growing up, Kevin was always there for me. He was my friend when all my other friends were far away. He was tutor whenever I did not understand something. He challenged me to be better in everything I do (sometimes just because he was so good at everything), and encouraged me by both words and actions. My favorite memories of Kevin and I are when we would play and sing songs together. I still remember buying our first guitar, electric of course. Most of all, however, I love how we can even just sit at home or ride in a car and just enjoy each other’s company. I am proud of my brother and excited as he starts this new season of life!

I met April this past May and fell in love with her right away. The fact that we both love working with children, and moreover working in ministry, I believe helped us bond. Having been blessed just to meet her and spend a little time with her, I know Kevin is even more so blessed to have her as his bride. I think her bubbly personality and beautiful laugh adorn her more than any jewels could. I am looking forward to having her as the sister I always wanted. I had such a fun time talking over wedding plans, eating strawberries, and walking until our legs were sore with April while she was here in Germany. I wonder what fun we will have in December?
